May Happenings

On the 9th, Marty and I will be at the Downtown San Leandro Farmer's Market. That's on Parrott St., and we will be playing from 4 p.m. till 8 p.m. Then on Saturday the 12th, AKB will be performing at the San Gregorio General Store from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m.

On Saturday the 19th, I will be making a solo appearance at the annual Meals on Wheels benefit luncheon. From there, I'll head over to the San Gregorio General Store to join Marty, and George for our usual AKB 3rd Saturday show from 2 p.m. till 5 p.m.

The next day (Sunday, the 20th) AKB will be in Niles for the kick-off of their Town Plaza Concert Series. Several bands will be appearing between the hours of 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. -- we'll be going on at noon. Admission is free. Location is: 37592 Niles Blvd.

Downtown San Leandro Farmers Market

I'm happy to report that Marty (Atkinson) and I will again be performing at the Downtown San Leandro Farmer's Market. This will be our 3rd year playing this wonderful outdoor venue. We will be there on May 9th, August 15th, and September 26th (those are all Wednesday dates) from 4 p.m. till 8 p.m. We will also be doing a special market performance on July 4th earlier in the day -- I'll give you more information on that one as the date approaches.

If you've never been to the Downtown San Leandro Farmer's Market, I recommend you find time to go. The market is located on Parrott Street between E14th Street, and Washington Ave. -- literally on the street. The music "stage" is located in front of Allphin Jewelers (also near The Englander Restaurant, and The Vine Wine & Tapas Bar).

Along with the fresh fruits, and vegetables you would expect to find, the Downtown San Leandro Farmer's Market also features vendors with wonderful baked goods, and delicious prepared foods. If you leave there hungry, it's your own fault!

Hope to see you there!

Sitting on the Edge of the World

The band (Atkinson Kincheloe & Beynon) played the morning slot (aka the Bloody Mary set) at the San Gregorio General Store yesterday. George, and Marty have worked up some great harmonies for one of my new songs "Sitting on the Edge of the World". Katy Boyd, who is not only a talented musician, but a skilled viedographer as well, captured it on film for us. How lucky am I to have such talented friends?

Blue Cactus Choir

A few weeks ago I got to sit in on a video recording session with Blue Cactus Choir (Marty Atkinson & Katy Boyd). We recorded several songs from their new CD Blue Cactus Choir. Here's one of the videos. (You can see more videos on You Tube.) Yep, that's me on bass, Lisa Kelly on mandolin, John Hasty on drums, and Pete Peirce on banjo. We had ourselves a blast!

Saturday at The Store

If you didn't get down to the AKB St. Patrick's Day show at the San Gregorio General Store, you missed a great time. Marty, George, and I were joined by Roger Powell on keys, and melodica. And well, I don't have to tell you how much fun that is for us.

If you've not had a chance to get to the San Gregorio General Store (located on Hwy 85 & Stage Road, about 10 mi south of Half Moon Bay), make time to do it. It's such a great place -- a real general store, with a full bar, and live music every Saturday & Sunday. We (Atkinson Kincheloe & Beynon) are there the 3rd Saturday of each month from 2 - 5 p.m.
